Peter van Agtmael

Peter van Agtmael was born in Washington DC in 1981. He studied history at Yale.
His work concentrates on America, looking at issues of conflict, history, memory, nationalism, militarism, race and class. He has worked extensively in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Israel/Palestine. He has been awarded the W. Eugene Smith Grant, the ICP Infinity Award, the Lumix Freelens Award, the Aaron Siskind Grant, a Magnum Foundation Fellowship as well as multiple awards from World Press Photo.
His book, 'Disco Night Sept 11,' on America at war in the post-9/11 era was shortlisted for the 2014 Aperture/Paris Photo Book Award and named a ‘Book of the Year’ by The New York Times Magazine, Time Magazine, Mother Jones, and Vogue. His second book, "Buzzing at the Sill," about America in the shadow of the wars, was shortlisted for the 2017 Rencontres D’Arles Book Award. It was named a “Book of the Year” by Time, The Guardian, Buzzfeed, Mother Jones, Internazionale and LensCulture. He is a founder and partner of Red Hook Editions. Peter is a mentor in the Arab Documentary Photography Program in Beirut.
Peter became a member of Magnum Photos in 2008.
Stella Johnson

Stella Johnson is a photographer and educator known for her passionate and honest documentary projects. She received a Core Fulbright Scholar Grant to photograph in Mexico in 2003, and Fulbright Senior Specialist grants to teach in Mexico in 2006 and in Colombia in 2018. The University of Maine Press published her monograph, Al Sol: Photographs from Mexico, Cameroon and Nicaragua in 2008. Johnson’s photographs have been widely exhibited in the United States and internationally.
A dedicated educator, Johnson holds teaching positions at Boston University and Lesley University College of Art and Design. She also teaches workshops in Greece, Cuba, and Mexico. She was a 2013 finalist for the Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowship, Photolucida Critical Mass Top 50, and a nominee for the Boston Foundation’s Brother Thomas Fellowship. Johnson’s work has received numerous honors including a New England Foundation for the Arts Cultural Collaborative Artist-in-Residence Grant and Julia Margaret Cameron Award.
Johnson holds a BFA from The San Francisco Art Institute and an MS in Journalism from Boston University. Her work is held in public collections including The DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, The Haggerty Museum of Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The Portland Museum of Art, and The Southeast Museum of Photography, among others.

Nick Turpin is a London based Street Photographer, in 2000 he was the founder of the in-public street photographers group which played a significant role in the modern resurgence of interest in Street Photography as an approach.
Nick is the Art Director of STREET LONDON and creator of the #canpubphoto initiative to identify candid public photography online. Nick is also an experienced advertising, design and editorial photographer with major campaigns under his belt for brands such as IBM, Toyota, Barclays Bank and Jaguar. His recent book On The Night Bus explores the lives of London Bus commuters travelling home in the winter months. Nick has taught Street Photography for The Tate Gallery, Sony World Photography Organization and on the Discovery Channel.
Meryl Meisler
MASTER TALK : "Finding Gems In The Street "

Meryl Meisler was born 1951 in the South Bronx and raised in North Massapequa, Long Island, NY. Inspired by Diane Arbus and Jacques Henri Lartigue, Meryl began photographing herself, family, and friends while enrolled in a photography class at The University of Wisconsin, Madison.
In 1975, Meryl returned to New York City and studied with Lisette Model, continuing to photograph her hometown and the city around her. After working as a freelance illustrator by day, Meryl frequented and photographed the infamous New York Discos. As a 1978 CETA Artist grant recipient, Meryl created a portfolio of photographs, which explored her Jewish Identity for the American Jewish Congress.
After CETA, Meryl began a 31-year career as a NYC Public School Art Teacher. Upon retirement from teaching she began revealing large bodies of unseen work. Her monographs A Tale of Two Cities Disco Era Bushwick and Purgatory & Paradise SASSY ‘70s Suburbia & The City) (Bizarre Publishing) received international acclaim. She is working on her 3rd book in a trilogy about the 1970s.
Meryl lives and works in New York City, continuing the photographic memoir she began in 1973 – a uniquely American story, sweet and sassy with a pinch of mystery. She is represented by Steven Kasher Gallery.

Constantine Manos

Constantine Manos is a member of Magnum Photos. His books include Portrait of A Symphony, A Greek Portfolio, Bostonians, American Color, and American Color 2. The son of Greek immigrant parents, he grew up in South Carolina - where he received a B.A. English Literature from the University of South Carolina and made his first serious pictures in 1952.
Manos' photographs are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the George Eastman House in Rochester, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, the Benaki Museum in Greece, and others. He has been a member of Magnum Photos since 1963. In 2003 he won the Leica Medal of Excellence, out of a worldwide field of 250 entries.
Manos's work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, the George Eastman House in Rochester, and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
His book Bostonians, which celebrates the people of that city, was published in 1974. A new edition of A Greek Portfolio was published in 1999, accompanied by a major exhibition at the Benaki Museum in Athens. In 1995 Manos's American Color was published, and in 2003 he was awarded the Leica Medal of Excellence for his continuing work on that project.
