Magnum photographer, Alessandra Sanguinetti, presents a retrospective of her work and offers an intimate view into her photographic process

 

Alessandra Sanguinetti was born in New York in 1968, brought up in Argentina from 1970 until 2003, and is currently based in Petaluma, California.  She is a recipient of numerous fellowships and awards including a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Hasselblad Foundation Grant, and a Rencontres d’Arles Discovery Award.  Her photographs are collected in public and private collections, such as the New York Museum of Modern Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art.

 

Her published work includes “On the Sixth Day” and “The Adventures of Guille and Belinda”, published by Nazraeli Press in 2005 and 2012, respectively; “Sorry Welcome”, published by TBW books in 2013 and “Le Gendarme sur la Colline” in 2016 published with Aperture Foundation.  

 

She is a member of Magnum Photos and is represented by Yossi Milo Gallery in New York and Ruth Benzacar Gallery in Buenos Aires.
