Exhibit Opening- "PHOTOGRAPHS OF JAZZ & BLUES MUSICIANS" by David Spitzer

Black and White photographs from Jazz and Blues Musicians from the library's permanent art collection. The exhibit captures legendary musicians Muddy Waters, BB King, and Other Greats. Jazz & Blues performances and Music Talks.

Exhibit Opening- "LA TEMPESTAD" (The Tempest) by Vladimir Marcano

Striking images of the 2017 massive protest in Venezuela against Maduro's government. Documentary photographer Vladimir Marcano documents the oppositon's brave resistance and pays tribute to the young heroes in their fierce fight for democracy.

An entertaining and informative gallery tour of the 2017 MSPF International contest finalists.

Understanding contemporary street photography at its best.  McCawley explains the merits of the winning images as to composition, light, and other photographic processes.

"MADE IN THE SHADE: Two Photographers Delve into the Shadow Side of Florida" moderated by Anna Van Lenten.Join us for an informal talk about finding quiet moments in the third most populous state in the country. Brian McSwain and Hector Isaac shoot the streets and outdoor spaces of Florida in B&W sharing a darker, more psychological slant of the Sunshine State.

LEICA PHOTOWALK  "Making Connections"; Portraits of Miami Photowalk

Learn how to create powerful portraits in any setting with our hands-on photowalk through Miami’s Downtown lead by local photographer Lauren Koplowitz. Lauren will offer tips on how to connect with your subject & engage with them to create more feeling in your images.  You could even win a Leica Sofort!

Wander through the narrow winding streets of Valparaíso with Eléonore Simon in her ongoing series exploring the beauty and mystery of of the Chilean seaport.

Chris Suspect, acclaimed street photographer from Washington, DC, will discuss and present images from his long form documentary project FAITH that tells a powerful visual story about a community’s response to discrimination, both racial and religious. FAITH will be published in spring 2019 by FotoEvidence.

Unleash your creativity in an exciting street photography-themed photo hunt along downtown Miami with Leica and @IGersMiami. Also known as The Olympics of Street Photography, this is an original MSPF creation to learn from the best. A lively and informative public photo critique by three extraordinary street photographers Constantine Manos and  Meryl Meisler. Open to anyone around the world !! MSPF ARTIST TALK: ARTIST TALK: BARBARA PEACOCK- THE AMERICAN BEDROOM (The hunt and the dance)

Barbara will discuss her current project American Bedroom; how she does her research, finds her subjects (the hunt), and what her approach is to ensure her subjects feel safe and are willing to reveal themselves in vulnerable and intimate moments (the dance).
